Indie Store is an ecommerce marketplace connecting buyers with artisans and craftspeople of North East India. Our Platform is operated by Indie Store and is accessible via our mobile app and website at indiestore.app.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Phone Number — We collect your phone number for account creation and authentication via OTP. This is the only information required to create an account.
  • Profile Information — Name, profile photo, and address that you optionally add to your account.
  • Seller Information — If you register as a seller, we collect additional details including your business name, bank account details for payouts, and product listings.
  • Payment Information — When you make a purchase, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or banking details on our servers.
  • Shipping Address — Delivery addresses you provide when placing an order.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information — Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Data — Pages visited, features used, time spent on the app, and crash reports.
  • Location Data — Approximate location based on IP address for delivery estimates. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Firebase (Google) — We use Firebase for phone number authentication and app configuration. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Firebase.
  • Razorpay — Payment processing and transaction data is handled by Razorpay in accordance with their privacy policy.
  • Shiprocket — Order shipment and delivery data is shared with Shiprocket to fulfill your orders.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process and fulfill your orders
  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and delivery notifications via SMS or WhatsApp
  • Process payments and seller payouts
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve our Platform and personalize your experience

  • Prevent fraud and ensure platform security

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Sellers — Your name and shipping address are shared with the seller to fulfill your order.
  • With Service Providers — We share necessary data with Razorpay (payments), Shiprocket (logistics), and Firebase (authentication and app services).
  • For Legal Compliance — We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
  • Business Transfers — In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Blockchain Data

When an order is confirmed and delivered, a cryptographic hash derived from order details is recorded on the Polygon Amoy blockchain via our smart contracts. This hash is used solely for product and order authenticity verification and does not contain any personally identifiable information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at hello@indiestore.app. Note that some data may be retained for legal and financial compliance purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure token-based authentication via Firebase, and access controls on our backend systems. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

You have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing
